Abstract

This Intergenerational Transmission of Poverty Research Brief 5 reviews the findings of four recently commissioned papers, drawing out their implications for understanding, explaining and developing policy against childhood, life-course and intergenerationally transmitted poverty. It highlights recent work on:

• conflict and IGT in Northern Uganda;
• exiting chronic poverty in Kenya;
• Q2 research on chronic poverty and development policy in Tanzania;
• IGT and inheritance: policy and practice.
